3 Mobile Network Review
3 mobile is the leading light in the mobile market in terms of new media technology.
Hutchinson 3G began trading in 2002, offering access to a network share with other major UK mobile companies. The mainstay of the offering is access to a 3G network, this offers better security and smoother, faster transfer of data and other media. 3 customers enjoy the benefits of the best network technology on offer. It is measured that 3 mobile has over 19 million worldwide customers.
The launch of the 3 network was met with scepticism, with all other major players in the market place delaying the release of such technology. Over 100,000 subscribers were expected in the first year, but with initial teething trouble and the delay of handset release the company had just 10,000 signed up. This said the network offered a host of industry firsts.
3 mobile was at the front of the queue, giving people the ability to view video content on their mobile. This also lead to the Uk's first live television broadcast through mobile, airing the 2005 Grand National. Further development allowed customers to view full music videos and recieve the same data or media as Videomail, much like standard voicemail.
Contracts are available on 3 from a low price of £15, with the ability to mix and match text and free minutes in a combination to suit the individuals needs. Sim only contracts are available from £10 with 100 minutes and unlimited texts. There is standard pay as you go offers, all of which are competitive by comparison with the other major players. Also available is mobile broadband access, with dongle access from £10 a month and £15 a month with limited data download. Laptop and access is available from £17.50 a month, which is a highly competitve price.
In general 3 mobile offers great coverage and service, all comparable with the offering of all other network providers. The company continues to grow, developing new technology and access to highly advanced services. With early customer service and reliability issues being resolved the network can only go from strength to strength, continuing to gain happy and loyal customers.
