This is LG’s stripped down touchscreen phone, for people who want a touchscreen but are on a budget, and a very tidy little phone it is as well. It is fun to use, and pretty simple too, and as is LG’s style, it is stylish and attractive too. It doesn’t have as much as some of the rival touchscreens, but then it is a much cheaper version.

To start with you get an entirely touchscreen based interface, which you can control with either your fingers or with the provided stylus pen, and it features a full Qwerty keyboard when being operated in landscape view, which helps in making this phone easy and enjoyable to use.

You only get a 3.2 megapixel camera, it’s not a bad camera, but don’t expect the same as the 8 megapixel big boys. However, a lot of people are probably perfectly happy with that level of camera.

It is also one of the lightest touchscreens available at just 89g, which is a pleasant surprise, in fact this one is so light, you’ll barely notice you’re holding it, which just adds to the enjoyable feel of using it.

This phone also features a very good media player which supports all the most popular music formats. The in-built memory isn’t the best, just 48mb in fact, but of course, as with most phones, with the addition of a microSD memory card that can easily be bunked up to 8gb. Unfortunately, it isn’t 3G so surfing the web is not going to be the best idea, which is a pity, because it has such a big screen.

If what you’re looking for is a good quality touchscreen phone, but you’re on a budget, or just aren’t that fussed with all the latest mobile phone features, then this will be an ideal phone for you.

Summary:

  • Good Points: Lightweight, value for money, attractive.
  • Bad Points: The camera isn’t the best available, and the in-built memory is a little stingy, but that’s easily fixed.
  • Others to Consider: Samsung Omnia i900, Nokia 5800 Xpress Music.
  • Free on Contract with: O2, T-Mobile, Orange & 3.
